Hard water: understanding the role of a softener

Illustrative or AI-restored image.

What softening addresses

Ion-exchange softeners reduce the calcium and magnesium that cause water hardness, exchanging them for sodium or potassium. They need regeneration, which uses salt and water.

Consider operating needs

Discuss hardness, water demand and regeneration requirements when selecting a unit. Follow maintenance instructions and consider both water and salt consumption.

Make the discussion practical

Send Deep Blue a water analysis, information about your current installation and photographs of the proposed location. We can discuss available equipment and access for servicing.
